The Series Is Complete!

That’s right folks, Boston Garden In Color is now completed with three separate paintings incorporating my interest in painting bright colorful trees and Boston scenes. The concept for this series began after painting three separate tree paintings while in Houston, Texas for a month. Painting trees felt freeing, and putting all the colors I wanted into them was especially enjoyable. When I returned home in early December, I wanted to develop on the idea of trees, however, set a stronger composition. The Boston Garden was the perfect setting for this- with the iconic bridge over the pond usually filled with Swan Boats in the warmer months. These paintings are done in the winter, however, and while filled with color, they are hopefully not misleading as to the appropriate months. The trees clearly show it is winter, or at least fall, as there are no leaves. Despite the lack of leaves, they are still vibrant and alive and this is what I love about this series.
This series will be on display in Starbucks by Freshpond in Cambridge, MA starting January 25th. An entry with more detail will soon come. Artist Paul Ryan and myself will be showing a series of Boston themed works and they will be on display for the month of February.
